Willems Advocaten & Rechtsanwälte, founded in 1948, is a commercial law firm in Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport and Düsseldorf which currently works with 8 Dutch lawyers and 4 attorneys, admitted to the German Bar (Rechtsanwälte). One of the partners has been admitted to the bar in Germany where, in collaboration with German lawyers, advice and legal actions are offered under German law.
We advise and represent large and small businesses, both nationally and internationally. We also represent private interests, especially when they are closely linked to businesses owned by our clients.
The firm particularly focuses on the following areas of law:
administrative and environmental law, building law and project development, commercial real estate, rental law, company law, franchising, intellectual property rights and ICT, employment law, mergers & acquisitions (including due diligence and legal audit) and liability law.
Our firm's objective - "to strive for 'the right balance'" - is reflected in the way in which clients' affairs are handled. The client's interests are thereby always the primary consideration. We establish and maintain direct lines of communication with the client. We operate cost-effectively and energetically, whereby quality is the key factor at all times.
Experienced teams have been established within the firm in order to handle all issues within our field of expertise. Specialists with whom we maintain close contacts - such as notaries, tax advisers, criminal lawyers and lawyers specialising in EU law - can be called upon to assist us where necessary in dealing with issues outside our field of expertise. If our clients already have established contacts with such specialists, we will encourage them to maintain these relationships.
Where we feel it is appropriate, we will seek second opinions from relevant experts at the bar or associated with universities.
